Privacy policy

StressLess is built so that what you write about how you feel stays with you. There is no account and no sign-up.
Kept only on your device
Your check-ins (mood, tension, tags and notes), your calm sessions and their ratings, your favourite affirmations, your emergency contact and your settings are stored only on your phone. They are not sent to us or anyone else, and they are excluded from cloud backups. Settings → Export my data gives you a copy; Settings → Delete all my data erases it. Uninstalling the app also erases it.
Usage statistics (optional)
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to count how features are used (for example app opens, which exercises are started, crashes of the app) together with the app version, device model, operating system and approximate country. These statistics are linked to a random app-instance identifier, never to your name, and never include what you write in the journal. You can turn them off at any time in Settings → Share anonymous usage statistics.
App settings from our server
The app downloads its settings (for example which features are available) from Google Firebase Remote Config. This request carries the app-instance identifier and app version, nothing you entered.
Ads
Ads are currently switched off. If they are switched on in a later version, they are provided by Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising identifier and other device data to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the app first asks for your consent with Google's consent form, and you can change your choice later in Settings. Ads never appear during a breathing or calming session.
Feedback you send
Settings → Send feedback in the app and the contact form send what you type, an optional link you add, and the app version, operating system, device model and language through Google Forms. Nothing is sent until you press Send. Please don't include personal details you don't want to share. Messages are used only to answer you and to improve the app, and are deleted once dealt with.
Calling your emergency contact
"Help now" opens your phone's dialer with the number you saved. The call itself is handled by your phone, not by StressLess.
Who receives data
Only Google, as the provider of Firebase and Forms (and AdMob if ads are enabled), under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. We don't sell personal data and don't run our own servers for the app.
Children
StressLess is intended for adults (18+). It isn't directed at children.
Your rights
Because your journal stays on your device, you control it directly with the export and delete options above. For any other privacy question or request, use the contact form and choose "Privacy request".
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
